Week 6
Week 6 of Biosignature modulation flowed itself into my first holiday in two years. I was positive and determined not to let all my hard work and discipline hit the deck, so I went on holiday with a view to eat healthily, train several times using whatever I could find as gym equipment and stretch everyday.
Stretching was regiment. The first thing I did after breakfast, whilst sailing out to the next island of Croatia was don the 70's speedo's and stretch out. Officially the best stretching sessions I've ever had/done. The motion of the boat on the Adriatic Sea really created some new flexibility I don't think I've ever had. It replicated the 3D functional stretching I rave on about to all of my patients, pushing, stretching and strengthening my golgi tendons and muscle spindles simulating movements I'd put my body through in real life e.g. when I unwittingly step of a curb.
Workouts were great fun. I packed my rings and skipping rope with me and used whatever else I could find around me to make each workout a little harder. Muscle ups off the main sail was great fun. Hitting the water and then having to swim and climb back onto the boat to re-mount the rings was a little harder than expected. The most memorable workout was an early morning call, up by a church on the edge of a cliff. A few logs which I think were intended for the fire, looked good to perform thrusters. A steep hill to sprint up, the rope and of course burpee's was all I needed. Most workouts become a blur, especially when pushing to your maximum capacity. However all I remember is watching the sun rise above the sea, the moon still in the sky, sun beaming off rocky shores and little boats bobbing up and down with the tide. All this was as I gazed out whilst performing double unders on the rope.
Eating healthy was a challenge. I really noticed the difference in quality in food. It wasn't the evening meal which was largely fish, it was getting through the day without eating crisps or biscuits. I'd recommend trying Gurnard by the way. Its an ugly looking fish with a hard head, but it had some serious flavour and certainly gave up some meat. I snacked through out the day on fruit and almonds. Almonds cost out £5.00 a bag so I wasn't wasting any that's for sure. The only thing I'd say I had a little to much of was fizzy drinks.
All in all a good healthy trip. The body fat percentage dropped to 15.8% so I was happy and felt refreshed. I've now finished my course of supplements so its all about maintaining and pushing forward to greater fitness and health.
